The place is very cute!! The most important thing that I saw nowhere on the public listing is: THEY HAVE NO RUNNING DRINKABLE WATER. That definitely didn’t ruin our stay, but on an island, I feel like that’s a very important thing to be upfront about. The location is beautiful and the cabin is cute with a nice tv and plenty of fun activities. The outdoor space is huge, the private dock is beautiful, and there’s plenty of seating. The A/C that is mentioned is a single window unit in one bedroom, the rest of the house can get very hot (windows closed or open— we experimented with both). There are also little biting fish around the dock. These are just the things I would want to know ahead of time. Overall, we had a good time, though!
Our stay at the cabin on Bear Lake was absolutely wonderful and exactly what our family was looking for. It was rustic, quiet, and had everything we needed to enjoy our time there. In particular, Patti was an incredible host both in her communication with us prior to the trip, as well as her responsiveness when I reached out with questions about how to find more toilet paper. Although neighbors are close, this spot on Bear Island was incredibly quiet and peaceful, especially the access to the lake. We have stayed at a few different lakeside places on Lake Winni and this was by far our favorite because the cove where the cabin is located is calm with minimal waves from passing boats (there are also all of the water toys and things we could possibly need to enjoy the lake). The proximity to the public boat launch at Goodhue Marina in Meredith was also ideal. Thank you for a great trip - we will be back!
